A great new Hungarian-developed language teaching application, Drops, teaches you foreign language vocabulary in just 5 minutes a day.
Nowadays, it is quite important to speak at least one foreign language. This effect of globalization makes amazing opportunities alive to help the people to learn new skills, such as languages. The Hungarian developed Drops makes it easy and fun to learn and improve your language skills.
When you’re trying to learn a new language (or any other skill), it’s often better to study in small, frequent chunks. Drops embraces this approach, and limits your learning time to just 5 minutes of vocabulary building gameplay each day. Once your five minutes are up, Drops starts a countdown timer for 24 hours later when you can play again.
How does it work? The games are fun, having you swipe letters to form foreign words (languages currently offered include Spanish, French, German, Italian, and English) in order, choose the correct illustration for the word, answer true or false questions, and occasionally race against another player.
The developers at Plan B Labs hand-picked the vocabulary list to include the 460 most practical words—covering about 60% of everyday conversations. The app also supposedly adjusts to your performance for the right amount of challenge.
It’s a pretty entertaining—and educational—way to spend five minutes, and learn. You can download the app from Google Play and from the iTunes app store.
