It was my father-in-law, László Csatári who introduced me into a tradition for several dynasties, knife-making with hundred percent traditional technology. The knives made in this way have thinned edge for the sake of nicer and better cutting.

In 2003 I received the Honour of Folk Artist. In the following year I was selected the President for Union of Folk Artists. In the same year the ’Halas/Fish pocket knife’ was recognized by the Hungarian Chamber for Commerce and Industry as a Hungarian Handcraft Masterpiece.

I accept also individual orders, and deal with sharpening of knives and scissors as well.

My wife’s ancestors were knife-makers for four dynasties. In the 20th century the workshop was in Csongrád, and the ’Halas/Fish’ pocket knife of Szeged was made here. Working with my father-in-law I Iearnt and came to like the craft,, and after his death I took the trade over.

In 2007, at the Meeting of Knife-Makers the Jury of Experts granted me the Award of Exclusive Pocket Knife of the Year 2007.
