Flaxseed oil, also known as linseed oil, is unrefined cold pressed oil yellowish in colour which is obtained by pressing raw flaxseed. Among plant oils it is the richest source of omega 3 fatty acids (52-56%) which are necessary for the correct functioning of the brain and eyes, the heart and circulatory system. It also contains omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, as well as B vitamins. Flaxseed oil is a key ingredient in the Budwig diet which has shown good results in the prevention and treatment of cancer. In view of its natural instability this oil must be stored in a cool and dark place.
