My beads and buds, like impressionist paintings, are typically inspired by an emotion or a snapshot from nature. I find it an exciting challenge to `translate` the feeling evoked by a bunch of red poppy, an autumn forest, or a neon lit street into a necklace. I love the mix-up of colours, but become a merciless censor when it comes to a hue that does not match.
Beads and buds are created of a variety of yarns, and minerals as well as beads of glass, wood, metal, and – sometimes – plastic threaded on either plain or silver plated yellow brass or red copper wire.
Apart from the items shown here I like designing jewels for a specific occasion and/or attire.
The basic shapes of necklaces:
– full circular, where the beads and buds go all the way round
– medal-like, where the beads and buds extend to no more than 15 cm
Closure:
– Metal chain
– Ribbon of silk, organza or velvet of a matching colour |
